Job Description

Collins Engineers, Inc. has an opportunity for a civil engineering student to apply their academic training to meaningful work experience with our structural engineering group in Denver, Colorado. The student will work under the supervision of professional engineers and gain insight into the structural engineering processes and activities related to the civil engineering field.

The internship opportunity will be an ongoing internship during the school year. During this time, the successful candidate will gain hands-on experience assisting on various structural inspection projects which include: ancillary signs and signals, bridges (load-ratings, inspections, design, rehab), other structures.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Compiles reports.
  • Properly checks other team members’ calculations.
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Field work will be required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Junior or senior working towards a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college.
  • Valid driver's license.
